Rector Posting

St James, Albion and Trinity, Marshall

Combined Vision: Together in Christ, Serving Both Communities

We are calling a priest-in-charge to serve our parishes by preaching and teaching God's word, administering the Church's sacraments, providing pastoral care to parishioners in need, leading us in community outreach, and offering guidance as we discern our next steps. We envision a priest who will live in the St. James's rectory and divide their time between our two parishes, conducting services in Marshall and Albion on alternating Sundays (Holy Days to be negotiated) and setting office hours during the week. We're excited to issue this joint call, and we look forward to seeing what God will do among us as we enter this new phase of our ministries.

We are collaborating because we believe that we will be stronger together. We see ourselves entering into greater familiarity and mutual respect. We envision a few joint services, ministries, and events as well as joint vestry meetings from time to time. We expect to grow and flourish as we find new ways to work together. Trinity Church and St. James', founded in 1836 and 1840 respectively, have each enjoyed more than 180 years of history in Western Michigan. As we embark on making history together, we hope to inspire other parishes who might benefit from a collaboration like ours.
